The courage of the students who have decided to live an experience like going abroad to study is really admirable. Not only because they have the courage to pack their bags and leave everything to come to Ireland but also to admirably face what awaits them here: most of them decide to study and work at the same time and that leads to an evident stress situation.

As we want to help our students as much as we can with any and all issues, we decided to organise a physical activity to relax after a stressful day of work or classes. We chose Tai Chi, but why do you think we chose this activity?

Originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for your physical and mental health and very effective in reducing stress. It is a fusion of Taoist and Buddhist philosophy and through movement based on Traditional Chinese Medicine to get the correct circulation of energy in your body.

Tai Chi is a combination of body movement, consciousness and concentration. The key of the practice is relaxation, which is an antidote to stress.

In addition to significantly reducing stress, it has been shown that the practice of this activity produces increased energy; helps reduce blood pressure, relieves back pain, helps us sleep better and improves our nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Nadia, the instructor, is one of our English Teachers in the school. Nadia is not only a fully qualified English teacher, but also has many years experience in the field of Tai Chi.
